I said I would post Charlatans first concepts ever. So this are!

The first Karon(Not named then) was a random scribble I was doing alongside a costume history book my sister gifted me. I thought she was cool and pasted it on my journal. Then months later there was a blackout, so out of boredom I thought a story for her…

1>first picture is said scribble. The costume I used reference of was of a venetian courtesan from 1591, but I changed her design a bit because why not. The hairstyle said courtesan had is super cool, she looks like a devil. I think I wasn’t planning Karon to have a strong personality, maybe a more gullible girl instead. I’m not sure if you will like her XD Imo she’s intolerant and violent woman.

2>My first idea for Charlatans was to have the mc(Karon) choose between following one of the two twins. One professed an ideal afterlife(This was supposed to be the male, Sabine) and the other was there to find out the truth behind it(The female, Priam) This is still there yet I tossed Sabine’s path just to have a visual novel without choices. I think Priam’s path is more interesting also more exploitable.  About the design, and I wished I could see this scribble I did of them before I was sketching them this year :u…I was aiming for them to be a really tall pair of twins(You know this is confusing, in spanish we call them “mellizos” and not “gemelos”.If you translate “gemelos”, it means “twins” but the correct translation for that should be “identical twins”. tldr, they are twins but not identical I believe that’s not possible when it’s female and male :y?) Priam was supposed to be a charmer and Sabine a womanizer(This wasn’t changed except for Sabine…)

They had this eerie look…I like that a lot :A: I just forgot I had that sketch dug on my journal orz. In the end the script so far is not as dark as I wished too, so the current Priam and Sabine are perfect. Now that dog and that cat. I’m pretty sure I drew that because they mean something really important…But I forgot :u(I added them in the extras anyway)

3>Last one was the name of the story! I suck at this stuff but I think charlatans fit it very well haha.
